Resume Reference Sample Page

NEVER include references with your resume when you send it to an employer - Don't list them on your resume either.

Have your references listed on a separate page that you can send, email, or fax to the employer when requested.

Many employers today request at least three personal references, some may require more, some may require you to list current or previous employers as references. I recommend listing 3-personal & 3-professional references as shown in the resume reference sample page.

The person you list as a reference should be someone who can attest to your abilities and/or confirm your qualifications when contacted by the potential employer.

Prior to listing the person on your reference page make sure you have requested their permission to use them as a reference on your resume. Give them a copy of your resume and ask how each one would like to contacted. You will need to include your references full contact information as outlined in the resume reference sample page below.
