The chronological resume is one of the easiest, to write.
The steps to use in writing a chronological resume are:
- Start with the
outline of a resume
. It will give you the basic format.
- Write an Objective Statement or Career Summary (optional).
- List each position you've held with each company or organization in reverse chronological order (most recent first).
- Relate your duties & accomplishments using action statements/verbs to the position for which you are applying.
- List 3 to 5 statements for each position held. The most important position should occupy the most space.
- Emphasize dates & job titles.
- Finally, list your education, certificates, awards, or any other significant training that applies to the job position for which you are applying.
